Now’s our chance: Dan Monte for Assembly

My old friend Dan Monte is running for Assembly in the North Bay’s 10th District, and I couldn’t be more pleased.

I’ve known Dan for more than a decade. During that time, I’ve been struck by his activism, his humility, his courage, and his willingness to take progressive stands that aren’t popular with the establishment. In other words, he’s just the kind of person we need representing us in the California Assembly.

Dan stands in stark contrast to his opponent in this race. Unlike Marc Levine, he supports guaranteed healthcare for all, fair overtime pay for farmworkers, and accountability for charter schools. Dan has taken the “No Fossil Fuel Money” pledge, and he doesn’t accept campaign contributions from corporations or billionaires.

Dan Monte’s campaign is entirely grassroots-propelled, embodying people power at its best.

And speaking of people power, here’s where we all come in: We the people can help his campaign by volunteering to knock on doors and talk to our neighbors about his campaign, phone banking, attending a house party or volunteering to host a house party. As Dan says, having one-on-one conversations with voters is one of the most powerful things that grassroots campaigns can do to go up against big money and win.

So I’m asking you to sign up to help. If you don’t know much about Dan, you can learn more here. If you already support Dan but have been wondering what to do next, go here and sign up to volunteer.

Time is short, and the time is now, if we want a true progressive to represent us in the 10th Assembly District.

In Solidarity,
